Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering helps make Marshall District Library a welcoming place for everyone. From keeping things tidy to lending a hand at programs or pitching in behind the scenes, volunteers help the library run smoothly for our community.

Who Can Volunteer?

Adults, teens, & families are invited to volunteer. We’ll do our best to find a way that uses your skills, honors your available time, & benefits the library.

Background Check Required

Those interested must agree to a Michigan State Police background check prior to volunteering. While we don’t accommodate community service restitution requirements, we’re happy to provide letters of reference.

Our Volunteer Program Mission

The purpose of the Volunteer Program is to provide an opportunity to extend library services by involving citizens who have an active interest in helping the library. The program is a resource that provides valuable services to meet the needs of our patrons and other visitors while allowing individuals an opportunity to contribute to their community in a manner that proves meaningful to them and beneficial for the library.
